The Research Committee of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully conducted the workshop titled “Writing for Funding Success: A Practical Guide for Research Proposal Writing” on 25th May 2026 at the FMS Boardroom.
The workshop was conducted by Prof. Neelika Malavige, Senior Professor in the Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The session focused on practical approaches to developing competitive research proposals and provided valuable guidance on strategies to improve funding success, address common pitfalls, and align proposals with reviewer expectations.
The workshop attracted 40 participants, including academic staff, postgraduate trainees, and early-career researchers. A key highlight of the programme was the interactive discussion session, during which participants presented their research proposals and received expert feedback and recommendations for further refinement.
The workshop provided a valuable platform for participants to strengthen their proposal-writing skills and gain practical insights into developing fundable research projects.
