An annual charity project organized by the Buddhist Society of Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura was successfully concluded on 3rd of June 2023 at Welioya – Bogasweva.
This project was an extension of the clothes and books donation project which commenced in year 2022 by Dr. Sajith Edirisinghe.
This project was done in collaboration with the Sri Shakyaputhra Foundation headed by Ven. Sri Santhabodhi thero. During the project the Buddhist society managed to conduct a successful health camp and health awareness programmes to the general public and provide essential school supplies including exercise books and stationary for 100 school children with financial difficulties in Bogasweva. In addition the Buddhist society managed to donate over 1500 books to school libraries in that area and donate clothe to residents in Welioya – Bogasweva area.
