SELECTIVE PROGRAMME

Eligibility

  • Student from University of Gothenburg, Sweden
  • Student from James Cook University, Australia

Important notice

At present most of the selective students are affiliated to Department of Surgery. However, when other specialties are requested by students/or their University, elective coordinator will direct the students to appropriate supervisors. Selective student is expected to discuss with both local and foreign supervisors regarding the feasibility of the project prior to registration. Ethical approval from ethics review committee, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura is mandatory and may take up to 3 months. Therefore, you are advised to commence contacting your supervisors well ahead time. Details about obtaining the Ethical approval is available at: https://medical.sjp.ac.lk/ethics-review-committee/

Up to 12 weeks/ academic year (as chosen by the student/University)

Course fee

  • Supervision fee to be payed to the Faculty Development Fund FMS USJ (US$ 1100)

  • A resume or a brief curriculum vitae
  • Project proposal & name of the supervisor (if you have contacted one already)
  • A letter from the Medical school/University confirming your medical studentship and giving permission to do the selective with the Topic of your project.

* Once you submit the above documents, you will be put in touch with your preferred supervisor by the elective coordinator.
