Talents 2024 was Organized by the Arts Circle of Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
It is considered as the most awaited aesthetic sensation of the year of the with the participation of all the batches in the faculty, the showcasing of talents continues to top their performances each proceeding year.
This year it was held on 30th of June 2024 at the National Youth Centre – Maharagama and was yet again a very successful achievement of the undergraduates of the faculty, who managed to strive against the hardships they faced, and captivated the audience by their breathtaking performances. The spirit of the students was much appreciated by the chief guest, Prof. Praneeth Abesundara who graced the event.
Following this year’s theme ‘ Mother Sri Lanka’, the show covered various aspects in performing arts, including music, dancing, painting as well as drama. The virtuosing instrumentals along with the soulful melodies highlighted the skill of the hidden musicians within the medical and dental undergraduates while electrifying choreography and spellbinding monologues revealed their artistic souls.
While succeeding to deliver an enthralling performance, Talents stands as the platform to allow medical and dental undergraduates to expand their horizons as well as to relieve academic stress in an effective manner. The faculty strongly believes that artistry within one self is important to evoke one’s empathy and emotional intelligence which are vital to be practiced in any profession, especially in the medical field. Thus, Talents remain as the stage of artistry and humanity combined, eager to be heated by the vibrant energy of our talented performers in the upcoming year as well.
