THE HINDU SOCIETY

The Hindu Society was formed in 2009 with the intention of fostering religious and social harmony in collaboration with the other societies. It promotes friendship and goodwill among students of different religions within the Faculty as well as within the University. Since its establishment the Hindu society has been successful in strengthening the cultural ties within the society as well as within the Faculty by arranging “Thai Pongal Vizha” and “Navarathri Vizha” annually. These cultural events have been instrumental not only in displaying the various talents of our students but also in enabling interpersonal relationships between the students and all the members of the Faculty.

“It is a privilege to serve mankind, for this is the worship of God. God is here, in all these human souls”

– Swami Vivekananda –

In accordance with the above quote, the Hindu society has been organising the Annual Social Project from its inception through which communities in need are helped by arranging health camps, book donations and donation of medical equipment to hospitals along with educational programs and campaigns for orphanages.

The events and activities of the Hindu society are coordinated by the members of the committee with the participation of all the student members. The committee is selected in the Annual General Meeting held every year.
