Research Committee – Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis – Workshop 2

Building on our introductory session, this workshop delivered a practical, clinic-style pathway from protocol to analysis. Short demonstrations were followed by group-based activities aligned to each team’s progress.

Programme highlights

• PROSPERO registration:drafting fields, common pitfalls, and tips for timely approval.
• Data extraction:designing forms, piloting with sample papers, and managing updates.
• Evidence synthesis:structuring tables, handling multiple outcomes, and preparing narrative summaries.
• Meta-analysis basics:effect measures, fixed vs random-effects models, heterogeneity (I²) concepts, and interpreting forest plots.

Outcomes
Participants left with drafted or refined PROSPERO records, working extraction templates, and a clear plan for synthesis and first-pass analysis. Facilitators provided targeted feedback to help attendees move projects forward after the session.
