3rd Annual Academic Session - 1999
The Third Annual Academic Sessions of the Faculty of Medical Sciences were held on 12 and 13 August 1999 at the Anatomy Auditorium, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The Organising Committee was chaired by the late Professor Dayasiri Fernando, with Dr Mohan De Silva and Dr Hemantha Peiris serving as Joint Secretaries. The Faculty Oration was delivered by the late Dr A. Gabriel, former Senior Consultant Surgeon at the National Cancer Institute, Maharagama, titled “The Way Ahead”. The sessions featured twelve oral presentations, reflecting the continued growth and consolidation of scholarly activity within the Faculty and reinforcing the Annual Academic Sessions as a key platform for academic exchange and research dissemination.
