2nd Annual Academic Session - 1998
The Second Annual Academic Sessions of the Faculty of Medical Sciences were held on 1 and 2 August 1998 at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Professor Devaka Fernando served as Chairperson of the Organising Committee. The invited lecture was delivered by Professor S. N. Arseculeratne, Professor of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, and was titled “What is education and what is a university?”. The sessions comprised twelve oral presentations, reflecting the growing engagement of academic staff in scholarly research and academic discourse. This event further consolidated the Annual Academic Sessions as a key forum for research presentation and intellectual exchange within the Faculty.
