I was board-certified as Specialist Family Physician in August 2020 and was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine, University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2021. I work as a Specialist Family Physician at the Family Practice Centre attached to the Department of Family Medicine which is a model centre established for both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical training in Family Medicine and for primary care research. I have been involved in research related to primary care and medical education.
During my postgraduate overseas training I worked as a full-time GP in Australia for 2 years and was awarded Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners after successfully completing the examinations and training and is currently registered as a specialist in Australia.
