  1. A paper titled "Demographic and environmental factors associated with sub fertility" was presented as a poster presentation at the 10nd South East Asian Regional Scientific Meeting of the International Epidemiological Association held between 23-26 May 2010 in Colombo, Sri Lanka

  2. A paper titled "Association between heavy metals and endometriosis: Results of a preliminary analysis" was presented as an oral presentation at the 20nd World Congress on Fertility and Sterility(IFFS 2010) held in Munich, Germany on the 15nd September 2010. The abstract of this paper was published in the Journal of Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology, volume 7(2010) /Number 4.
    Authors: Nalinda Silva, Hemantha Senanayaka, Roshini Peiris-John, Rajitha Wickramasingha, Vajira Waduge.
    This abstract was selected as one of the "Best Abstracts" by the Scientific Committee of the 13nd World Congress on Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Infertility (COGI) held at Berlin, Germany from 4nd to 7nd November 2010.
  3. A paper titled "Iron, Zinc and endometriosis: a preliminary study" was presented as an oral presentation at the 2nd Biennial conference of South Asian association of Physiologists(SAAP) held in Bangalore, India from 15nd to 17nd December 2010.

  4. A paper titled "Association of metalloestrogen cadmium and endometriosis" was Presented as a poster presentation at the 15nd World Congress of Gynecological Endocrinology, Florence 2012.

    This paper was selected among the 100 best abstracts in the Under 34 Competition and an award amounting to 600 Euros was presented.
  5. A paper titled "In-vitro effects of cadmium on cultured human endometrial stromal cells" was presented as an oral presentation at the 3nd Biennial conferences of the South Asian Association of Physiologists (SAAP-3) held in Colombo from 08nd to 09nd November 2012.

A paper titled "Association between heavy metals and endometriosis" was presented as an oral presentation at the 123nd Annual Scientific Sessions of the Sri Lanka Medical Association on the 2nd of June 2010. The abstract of this paper was published in the Ceylon Medical Journal, volume 55(Supp 1).

Experience in Laboratory Techniques

  • Enzyme linked immune-sorbent (ELISA) assays for human prolactin, leptin and caspase

Research Training

  • In 2013 followed the Frontiers in Reproduction training programme on Application of Cellular and Molecular concepts at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL), Woods Hole, MA, USA.

 

Research Awards

  • Awarded the prestigious Murugesar Sinnetamby oration for 2014 by the Sri Lanka Medical Association for the manuscript titled "Endometriosis and Metalloestrogens: Defining a Sri Lankan paradigm". The oration is to be delivered in September 2014.
