ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE


Undergraduate Teaching and Examination

I am a lecturer in the Department of Family medicine since June 2009. My teaching experience includes delivery of lectures for undergraduate students in the 3rd and 4th years. I have experience in teaching medical students during sitting-in-sessions, conducting small group discussions and seminars, during the clinical attachment in Family Medicine.

In addition to teaching I have contributed to preparation of multiple choice questions, structured essay questions and OSCEs in Family Medicine. I was also involved in conducting and coordination of OSCEs as well as being an examiner in all of these forms of assessment at the faculty of medicine, University of Kelaniya.

I have also been an examiner for undergraduate family Medicine OSCEs at Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

 

Postgraduate Teaching

  • Visiting lecturer at the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Colombo and have delivered lectures for postgraduate trainees in Diploma in Family Medicine since 2011.
  • Online non- editing tutor for the Online Postgraduate Diploma In Family Medicine, Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, Sri Lanka - Batch 2010-2012
  • I revised the online lesson on Sexually Transmitted Infections for Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine - 2011
