FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES WIN RESEARCH AWARDS

AT THE UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

NATIONAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY COMMISSION


 

The medical students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura submitted their research abstracts to the undergraduate research symposium, held by the National Sciences and Technology Commission on the 4th August 2017. Among the many abstracts submitted by the undergraduate student from all over the country, 12 of the research groups from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, were selected for oral presentations.

The twelve groups competed alongside many other undergraduate research presentations and the group consisting of D.A.N. Fernando, C.L .Munagama, S.M. Samarasinghe, Y.A.C.P. Perera, L.M.A.C. Edirisinghee, D. Jayatilake from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura won the best oral presentation for the research on “Knowledge regarding Lymphedema in the community and compliance to limb care in Lymphedema patients in selected clinics of Colombo District” under the supervision of Prof. Renu Wickramasinghe and Dr. Shamini Prathapan.
