ENROLMENT OF NURSES/PHARMACISTS/MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS

TO FOLLOW THE B.SC NURSING/BACHELOR OF PHARMACY/B.SC MLS

DEGREE COURSE CONDUCTED BY UNIVERSITY OF SRI JAYEWARDENEPURA

2018 JANUARY (LATERAL ENTRY)

 


Applications are hereby invited from nurses/pharmacists/Medical laboratory Technicians who are in-service and working under the Ministry of Health/Provincial Ministry of Health for lateral entry to Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Bachelor of Pharmacy/B.Sc in MLS Degree courses conducted by University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The duration will be three years. The selected candidates will be enrolled in to the 2nd academic year. As these are 4 year degree courses the selected candidates will have to spend 3 years in the University. The selected candidates will be exempted from 1st year of study.

The selected candidates are expected to commence the degree programme in January 2018.

 

 

Entry Qualifications

 

  1. Minimum of 03 years service in the state sector.
  2. Registration in the Sri Lanka Medical Council or Sri Lanka Nursing Council.
  3. Below 40 years of age.
  4. Passed in three science subjects at the GCE A/L in one sitting.
  5. At least a credit pass (C) in English language at GCE O/L Exam.
  6. Appropriate fitness for the selected field of study.
  7. Selection is based on aptitude test and interview which will be conducted by the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

 

The applications should be sent through the Head of Institution to the Deputy Director General (Education, Training and Research) at the Ministry of Health.

Applications should not be sent directly to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
