RESIDENTIAL CURRICULUM REVISION WORKSHOP
DEPARTMENT OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES
A two day residential workshop on revisitingng the curricula of the three degree programs; B. Sc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Bachelor of Pharmacy and B.Sc. in Nursing, was held on the 19th and 20th of March 2015 at the Cinnamon Bey, Beruwala. It was a successful event where the curricula of the three programs were revisited in order to improve the content within a total number of 120 credits. The Dean, Prof. Surangi Yasawardene, Senior Professor. Gita Fernando, and Senior Professor. Hemantha Peiris attended as invited resource personnel. The head of the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Rasika Perera, three coordinators, Dr. Jayantha Wijayabandara, Dr. Inoka Uluwaduge and Mr. Padmasiri Warunakulasuriya, and all academics of the three programs actively participated in the workshop. This was also an opportunity for all academics to socially interact with each other and further strengthen their team work. The second phase of the curricular revision will take place in the future with the participation of all relevant Departmental representatives.
